Barka NL recently hosted three interns. Our first intern – Magda Herbik visited us from 18th to 31st of March . Magda is a globetrotter from Poland and a graduate of international relations studies, who has spent several months on a scholarship in both China and Turkey. Magda was accompanying the leaders in their work in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Eindhoven and The Hague. She was also engaged in preparing Easter lunch for the homeless people in The Hague
Our second intern from 4 to 10 May was Wlodzimierz Placewicz. A Polish citizen, born in Lithuania, now living in Canada for the last 27 years. He recently founded and registered Barka Canada in March 2013. His recent visit to Barka NL was only one of a series of study visits to Barka Network. He also visited Barka IE in Dublin, Barka UK in London and in Hamburg.

Recently ( 19 May- 10 June) we also hosted a Polish – German student from Berlin- Roman Poplawski. Roman is studying to be a social worker and is working in a night shelter in Berlin. He was learning Barka’s methods of work with the homeless people, accompanying leaders and assistants in their work in Dutch cities. During their stay in The Netherlands our interns observed the work of Barka staff and actively participated in meetings, built relationships with people in extreme circumstances (the homeless, addicted and unemployed).
